Port Clark Lighthouse Museum Shines Brightly with Help from Performance Solutions
As the new business representative of our company, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the grand reopening of the Point Clark Lighthouse Museum, a project we have been dedicated to for approximately one year. Following a significant renovation in 2015, and this subsequent refurbishment, the museum finally opened its doors to the public, marking the unveiling of its beautifully updated facilities.
Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Huron in Huron-Kinloss, Ontario, the lighthouse now holds the esteemed recognition of being a national historic site. It once served as a crucial navigational aid, guiding ships along the shoreline and safeguarding them from potential accidents. However, as advancements in navigation technology gradually diminished the need for lighthouses, the Point Clark Lighthouse was officially decommissioned in 1983.
At the commencement of this remarkable refurbishment, our esteemed industry partners at Blue Rhino Designs referred us to this project with the utmost confidence in Performance Solutions’ ability to fulfill all the requirements of this historical facility, surpassing expectations with excellence.
Working in close collaboration with Amy Irwin, the representative from the Business and Economic Office for the township, and our lead designer, Matt Bannerman, we embarked on a journey to create captivating spaces, engaging displays, and interactive exhibits that would enhance the overall visitor experience while providing exceptional value.
Our expertise and extensive experience proved to be instrumental in overcoming the inherent challenges of such a project. Through meticulous guidance, we seamlessly integrated the lighthouse’s compelling narrative and proudly showcased the local artifacts. Additionally, our design committee ambitiously aimed to incorporate new interactive exhibits, further captivating and engaging visitors.

During the opening presentations, several guests approached me to express their profound appreciation for the exceptional collaboration and the successful outcome of the project. They specifically commended the effectiveness of our working relationship.
